This notice sets out how For Children & Young People (hereinafter referred to as “The Company” or ”4YP”) collects and uses data and cookies you provide when using the 4YP website.

The Company is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected in line with our Privacy Notice, which can be viewed at

We reserve the right to amend or update this notice and recommend you check regularly to ensure that you agree to the terms of use it sets out.

2.       What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s web browser and helps track and analyse web traffic, recognise behaviour and save preferences.  Web applications can use this to tailor operations to provide a more individualised experience.

The 4YP website uses cookies.

Cookies on this site in no way give us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share.

Each visitor to the 4YP website remains anonymous.  Any information collected is done in a way that does not identify visitors to the site.

3.       What we collect

We may collect standard Internet traffic log information to identify which pages are being used and details of behaviour patterns.  This provides general and usage information, such as:

  • number of visitors
  • page views
  • entry and exit points (i.e., referring URLs or domains)
  • website traffic statistics
  • impressions
  • operating system and browser type

Accessing the 4YP website may set Google Analytics cookies on your device.

4.       What we do with the information we gather

This data is used to understand the audience of the website and how visitors use and interact with it, informing us whether the website is successful and user-friendly.

It may be used to identify which services are in demand, for internal record keeping, and to customise and improve the website.  We may use it to compile reports.

The company does not:

  • attempt to establish the identities of anyone visiting the website
  • track users
  • associate or cross-reference the data, including IP addresses, with identifiable information from other sources.

5.       Third parties

No identifiable personal information is shared with third parties without your consent.

The organisation recognises other services are the experts at what they do.  As such, the 4YP website contains links to other sources that could be useful and of interest, including those that the company subscribes to (such as MailChimp for our newsletter mailing list).

While we only link to services we trust, if you select a link to visit an external page or site and thereby leave the 4YP website, we do not have control over, nor accept responsibility for the:

  • content of that website
  • information they collect and process
  • protection and privacy of any information you provide

We recommend you exercise caution and look at the privacy statement for the destination website before proceeding further.  Always refer to the terms, policies, and notices for individual sites.

The Company occasionally hosts polls on the 4YP website, which may be embedded from other websites or services such as Twitter or Facebook.  As stated in the Privacy Notice, identifiable information provided remains secure and the data used for purposes such as reports is made anonymous before use.

6.       Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

However, there is always an element of potential insecurity with any information shared online.  If you are concerned by this, the best way to safeguard your information is not to share it.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies.  Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. Please be aware that this may limit functionality and therefore prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
