4YP At School is a bespoke service, tailored to the individual needs of each school, which draws on 4YP’s expertise to supply counselling and/or youth work onsite services.
The 4YP team are embedded within the school providing specialised help to support the school community.
Funded by the school, our service provides an independent counsellor who is someone trusted for the young person to talk to. Referrals to these counsellors are made by the school team, providing a quick and easily accessible service.
The first point of contact should be a member of school staff (Form Tutor, Head of Year or Pastoral Care Head). The school will then arrange for the young person to meet with a counsellor.
These are clubs where young people can meet before school, after school or during lunchtimes. 4YP provides safe spaces to engage with young people with planned activities that are designed to meet the needs and interests of the young people but also work in unison with the school.
One-to-ones focus on the young person’s needs, helping them address any current concerns and enable them to make informed decisions. One-to-one sessions are often just giving a young person the time and space to sit and talk.
