Youth Worker (Detached)
4YP are seeking to recruit Detached Youth Workers to join our existing multidisciplinary team of youth workers and volunteers.
About the role:
Detached youth work provides informal and social education without the use of a building or activity and takes place where young people “are at” both geographically and developmentally. This differs from outreach youth work, which takes services to young people, whereas detached youth work’s primary purpose is to inform young people of services that exist in their locality and to encourage them to use them, or work with them to better understand their needs and develop new provision in their community.
This post(s) requires a youth worker with energy and strong engagement skills to develop work with young people more at risk who may be disconnected from mainstream services. 4YP detached youth work engages with children and young people in a range of locations in the Ipswich and Kesgrave areas.
