Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

4YP is seeking a committed and strategic leader, who can confidently build on the recent progress made and drive the charity forward to be able to achieve even more.

As we enter our 25th year, 4YP is at an exciting and pivotal time in its journey. Throughout 2022, a strategic review and programme of transformation led to the charity having a renewed sense of purpose and direction, and since that time there has been year-on-year growth in all areas; an evidential increase in the impact of our work and the number children and young people accessing activities and support; more staff; and greater financially sustainability.

Job Purpose:

The strategic leadership, management and development of the charity and company.

Principle responsibilities:

  1. To drive and continually review the organisational vision, mission and strategy, ensuring  that there is a well understood and communicated strategic and operational plan.
  2. To ensure that the organisation is financial stable and sustainable, maintaining the income necessary for achieving the mission and seek further new sources of income that support the realisation of the ambitions outlined in the operational plan.
  3. To work with the Board of Trustees/Directors (“Board”), and their Chair, to facilitate the good governance and compliance of the organisation, in accordance with the Charity Governance Code.
  4. To work alongside the Board to embed an organisational culture that embodies an ethos and values necessary for achieving the mission.
  5. To demonstrate and maintain accountability for expected performance and behaviours, and a concern for wellbeing.
  6. To represent the organisation externally, being an advocate and ambassador for children, young people and young adults, most notably amplifying their views and voices and highlighting unmet needs.
  7. To grow the brand and reputation of the organisation, enabling the articulation of impact and seek collaboration where it is in the best interests of beneficiaries.
  8. To oversee the development of a flagship youth hub and relocation.

There may be other occasional and appropriate responsibilities to undertake, as reasonably requested by the Chair of the Board of Trustees/Directors.
