4YP are delighted to appoint Gavin Stone as the new CEO.
Following 17 years of serving the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, Gavin will be leaving his current post as Director of External Relations at the Royal Hospital School to take up this role. Gavin began his career as a youth, community, and school’s worker and during his time with the diocese spent a number of years advising on the work of the Church of England with young people and communities throughout Suffolk, prior to holding a series of senior management and leadership roles. He has remained engaged with youth work in a voluntary capacity throughout his life, primarily as a football coach.
Gavin says, “To be entrusted with the role of CEO for 4YP is a huge privilege and the fulfilment of both a life passion and career aspiration. I know first-hand as a parent how vital the support that 4YP provides to so many young people is, particularly as we continue to emerge from such challenging times. Now more than ever, it is crucial that we not only listen to and hear the voices of young people but acknowledge what they are saying and act upon it. I look forward to working with the team at 4YP, funders, and other charities and statutory sector partners, to ensure that together we make a difference for young people where it is most needed.”
Richard Lister, Chair of the 4YP Board of Trustees said ‘We are delighted to have Gavin as our new Chief Executive. He brings experience, enthusiasm and he is highly regarded in Suffolk. We look forward to an innovative and successful future for 4YP delivering essential services for young people across Suffolk’
Gavin will take up the position of CEO in October 2021.
